Three Bluffs Environmental Monitoring Program Client: North Country Golf Location: Nunavut |
Hemmera conducted environmental monitoring at the Three Bluffs Gold Project, located 270 km northeast of Meadowbank and 10 km northwest of Wager Bay in Nunavut, just north of the Arctic Circle. The goal of this program was to assess existing fisheries and aquatic resources and assess potential effects of the proposed mine on those resources. Hemmera added value to this advanced stage exploration project by designing and implementing strategic biophysical studies involving the collection of data to support exploration infrastructure permitting and a future Environmental Assessment process. |
Angilak Uranium Project: Early Stage Baseline Studies Client: Kivalliq Energy Corporation Location: Nunavut |
Kivalliq Energy Corporation undertook exploration to advance the Angilak Uranium mine project located 220 km southwest of Baker Lake, and 350 km west of Rankin Inlet within the Kivalliq Region of Nunavut. Hemmera developed the early stage environmental assessment toolkit which provides a mining project at the exploration stage with a collaborative and affordable method of collecting relevant and applicable data, including climate and air quality monitoring, watershed characterization, lake level and creek flow monitoring, water quality sampling, wildlife habitat mapping and species behaviour monitoring. The data collected at this early stage helped add value to the project and will inform the environmental assessment to meet regulatory needs. |
